PRN For Families – Back to Basics

Counseling and school professionals advise “battle-weary” parents frequently don’t consider or simply aren’t aware of viable in-home options worth consideration.  So, the child embarks (often kicking & screaming) on a series of out-of-home placements.Though the referrals and placements are all well intended and potentially effective, such drastic interventions can also bring about premature/unnatural “separation and individuation” and potentially build negative self-perceptions and feelings of abandonment that can last a lifetime.

Services that Facilitate Successful Family Reunions!

Families are central to child safety, permanency, and well-being, and all families need support. For families facing additional challenges, the need for assistance is even greater.

This may include family preservation services, which are more intensive services intended to preserve families that are at risk of disruption while keeping children safe.

Family preservation services are part of a continuum of services to support and strengthen families that build upon the principles of family-centered practice. These principles include focusing on families’ strengths, engaging families in planning and decision-making, and leveraging community-based services and supports on behalf of families.

We Want to Help you Keep Your Kids Home

Our goal is to keep children, teens and young adults safe without unnecessary removal or long separations from the family in out-of-home programs. Our services are designed to support families in crisis in which children or adolescents are either at imminent risk of being sent away, or having already been placed outside of their homes.

The Family Assessments are specifically customized to suit the needs of each family.  We work with a cross-section of families to include traditional intact families, divorced or separated families and blended or step-families.

PRN for Families understands it is important to reduce barriers to services by being accessible and flexible, and taking the services into families homes. If you have any families you think could benefit from the services we provide, please contact us.
