PRN for Families & Voyageur Outward Bound School Collaborate to Provide AfterCare Support for Families

For young people who have participated in Voyageur Outward Bound School’s Intercept courses, there is now an opportunity for extended care and home-based support that can be delivered by PRN for Families.

PRN for Families and Voyageur Outward Bound School are pleased to announce a collaboration to extend support services to families of struggling teens and young adults. Families who enroll in Voyageur Outward Bound School’s Intercept courses, which are designed to help participants develop positive decision-making skills, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and cultivate a positive self-image, will have the opportunity to take advantage of a post course offering specially designed for Outward Bound graduates by PRN for Families.

This special program will give graduates and their families an opportunity for extended care and home-based support that will be delivered by PRN for Families. PRN for Families, a therapeutic industry expert in transition and home-based outreach services, will provide guidance, support, and case consultation services to families that builds off of the Intercept experience.

Why is AfterCare so Important?

Intercept Expeditions are specifically designed for families with teens struggling at home or in school. This highly structured and facilitated program removes students from the pressures and influences of home and school, and instead presents them with the healthy risks and real challenges of the natural world. Intercept courses focus on communication, conflict resolution and decision making tools.

This collaboration between Voyageur Outward Bound School and PRN for Families allows for an extended period of support, delivered by PRN’s clinical team, such that families may benefit from targeted therapeutic support and guidance as they navigate the transition home. PRN for Families and Voyageur Outward Bound School’s collaborative efforts are designed to support families in sustaining and further developing the learnings, tools and resources they have gained through their participation in the Intercept program.
